ROSE HIP

from $38.98

Rose Hip

Botanical Name: Rosa eglanteria Botanical Family: Rosaceae

Quick Facts

·         Method: Cold Pressed (from the seeds/fruit)

·         Texture/Absorption: "Dry" oil texture; very lightweight and thin. It sinks into the skin almost instantly without leaving a greasy film.

·         Color: Deep orange to reddish-amber (unrefined).

The Profile

Rosehip oil is extracted from the "hips"—the reddish-orange fruit left behind after a rose has dropped its petals. Lawless highlights its incredible ability to regenerate tissues, while some consider it essential for any "first-aid" skin kit. Unlike Rose essential oil, which is floral, Rosehip carrier oil has a faint, earthy, almost tea-like aroma.

Nutrient Profile

It is one of the richest plant sources of Vitamin A (Natural Retinol/Retinoic Acid), making it famous for anti-aging. It is also packed with Vitamin C, Lycopene, and high levels of Essential Fatty Acids (Omega-3 and Omega-6) which are crucial for cellular membrane health.

Skin & Body Benefits

·         Face: Renowned for reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots. It brightens the complexion and helps even out skin tone.

·         Body: The primary choice for treating scar tissue, including surgical scars and stretch marks. It helps to soften the skin and encourage the growth of healthy new cells.

·         Sun Damage: Excellent for soothing and repairing skin that has been overexposed to UV rays or environmental pollutants.

The "At Home" Uses

1.       Scar & Stretch Mark Treatment: Gently massage a few drops into affected areas twice daily. For best results, use while the scar is still "active" (red or pink).

2.      Brightening Eye Serum: Dab a single drop under the eyes at night to help minimize dark circles and "crow's feet" (be careful not to get it in the eyes).

Ideal For Blending

Because it is so potent (and often more expensive), it is frequently used at 10–20% dilution in a base of Sweet Almond or Jojoba. It pairs beautifully with Immortal for scarring, or Frankincense and Neroli for anti-aging facial serums.

Safety, Precautions & Storage

·         Safety: Generally safe, but because it is very active, those with extremely oily or acne-prone skin should use it sparingly, as it may occasionally cause minor breakouts in high concentrations.

·         Storage:Highly Delicate. Rosehip oil is very prone to rancidity. It must be stored in a cool, dark place, preferably the refrigerator. Typical shelf life is short—approximately 6 months.

Available Sizes: 50ml, 100ml, 500ml
