Who we are…
Based in Steinbach, a small city in Manitoba Canada, Biosense has always been a family based operation. Martha Adair had started using aromatherapy while doing massage treatments, and her pursuit of high quality products, led her to creating what we know today as Biosense Aromatherapy.
Before Biosense, Martha was using Sunspirit Aromatherapy, based out of Australia. She became the Canadian distributor of the oils, and really loved the quality they offered. However, in 2004, Sunspirit changed owners, and no longer offered the products. Martha needed to find a good source of high quality essential oils.
In her search of finding a good alternative to Sunspirit, she found herself purchasing oils from all over the world. There wasn’t one place she could go, that offered what she needed. So in 2005, Biosense was created, and Martha has all the high quality aromatherapy she needs for her massage clients.
What we do…
Biosense Canada purchases high quality, therapeutic grade essential oils, from all over the world. In most cases, growing the plant in their country of origin, is the only way to get the medicinal quality we are looking for.
Whenever possible, we buy them in bulk quantities, directly from the manufacturer. The manufacturing process includes planting the seed, harvesting the plant, and refining the oil. This keeps the quality very high, with less interference.
Once we import the raw oil product, we then bottle it, label it, and is then ready for purchase. We try to keep the process simple, to save time & resources. The handling of essential oils is a key step to keeping their quality high, as they can evaporate quickly, if not cared for properly.
Biosense is committed to bringing you high quality products. From time to time, the best quality of certain oils can be difficult to procure. If we aren't able to get a high quality product, then we don’t sell it. We know our products are top quality, and we want to maintain that reputation in the industry.
